HEALTHY HOT CHOCOLATE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ‘mug-full’ of preferred milk (I use almond)

  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 star anise or 1 chai tea bag

  • 1 tsp good quality dark chocolate [optional]

METHOD

Place all ingredients into a saucepan. Whisk to combine. Place over medium heat and stir until almost simmering. Remove from heat. Whisk vigorously to froth the milk. Pour into serving mug. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a little grated dark chocolate.
