HOMEMADE CHAI

MAKES APPROX. 1 CUP DRIED CHAI MIX | GLUTEN FREE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cinnamon quill

  • 4 cloves

  • 1 tbsp cardamon pods

  • 1/2 vanilla pod

  • 1 tbsp ground ginger

  • 1/2 cup black tea leaves

METHOD

Place cinnamon, cloves, cardamon and vanilla into a mortar and pestle. Grind ingredients well. Add ginger and black tea and mix together. Transfer to a glass, airtight container.


To brew the chai, place 250ml of milk and 100ml of water per person into a saucepan. Add 2 tbsp of blended chai mix per person. Heat milk until just before boiling point, stirring gently. Remove from heat. Sweeten with 1 tbsp of honey per person. Strain chai. Serve hot and enjoy.
